Folding@Home is a distributed computing project (similar to seti@home) to help find a cure for diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, Mad Cow (BSE), CJD, ALS, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s disease, and many Cancers and cancer-related syndromes. People from through out the world download and run software to band together to make one of the largest supercomputers in the world. Every computer makes the project closer to our goals.

The neat thing for us as a community? As you “fold” proteins you get points (based on how much computational power went into figuring out that protein). If you are a member of a team, your points are also counted towards the teams. We can start our own folding team and try to bring attention to ourselves, and also work for a darn good cause!

How do I fold for Code Igniter?

Its easy! To start folding for our team, download folding@home software, and choose team 52026. If you want to "set it and forget it", we recommend you download the console version of the program.

November 30, 2006. We've done it! We made it into the top 2000! This is really kind of nice because now we can track our progress at Extreme Overclocking which keeps great stats.
Congrats all! We're 1,952 and climbing the charts quickly!
October 24, 2006. We're up to 9 active folders and have broken the 5000 point barrier! Our goal is to get to top 2000.
